gavin gets to come home! our first week together...

well it's about time! we ALL got to be discharged from the hospital. (which by the way, the nicest people in the whole world took care of gavin in the nicu and took care of me!!!) we came home on monday, april 16th.... ahhh.... felt so good to be home! the doggies did well. they were very sniffy and curious!

Gavin Nolan Crocker was born on April 12 at 10:28 am. He came in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, 20 inches. it was a crazy 24 hours of contractions before my water broke... then about 12 hours at the hospital before the doctors decided to go ahead and do a c-section. (to our BIG surprise!!!) it was amazing and crazy all in one. truly a miracle! so, through the drama of what the doctors consider to be a stressful delivery for Gavin, he had a little tear in one of his lungs. he has been receiving excellent care in the NIC-U these past couple of days.... he improves every hour!!! we are hoping that he'll be able join me in my room tomorrow. we shall see! (i will be going home on monday... cross your fingers, maybe Gavin will come with me!!!) btw, he has mark's nose!!! so cute!

40 weeks, 3 days!!!

just got back from a non-stress-test (where they watch his heart rate's highs and lows for 30 minutes and monitor any contractions) and an ultra-sound (to check on the amniotic fluids). both of these tests are just to keep an eye on the placenta since i am past due. baby crocker is doing great... still very comfy in there. BUT, he has dropped some! so, that's good! maybe he just wanted to see his dad in the hospital first. :) we'll go back in for more tests and an appointment on thursday. till then....

40 weeks, 2 days!!! adventures in the hospital...

nope, not for me! poor mark had to have an emergency appendectomy on saturday night. it was completely unexpected (obviously)! mark had surgery at about midnight on saturday (after some quality time in the ER)... he was released on easter sunday at about 2 pm. he's doing ok, sore belly and all! (we are quite the dynamic duo right now!)

40 weeks!!! Baby Crocker is DUE today!!!

well today is the big day! however, as of yesterday at the dr. appt., he is showing no signs (STILL) of making a grand entrance! so, if nothing crazy and exciting happens in the next week, my dr. had scheduled an induction on the 16th. (mark's birthday is april 17th, so this will be very fun for all!!!)

39 weeks!!!

this week's status (friday, march 30): baby crocker is in no hurry at all to come out! he is still very high up there and quite comfy! no dilating yet... my doctor wants to evaluate everything on my next visit (thursday the 5th) to discuss whether or not we'll do an induction for sometime next week. he's not due till the friday the 6th, so we still have plenty of time! in the meantime, i've still been walking the doggies and hitting the gym... maybe that'll encourage him a bit!
